Dr McGaw trained at Monash University in Melbourne and completed his residency and general training in cardiology at Monash Medical Centre in Victoria. He then undertook a PhD researching factors involved in the process of restenosis after coronary intervention. This was novel research bridging with Governor David de Kretser’s group at the Monash Institute of Medical Research.

Dr McGaw then completed his advanced, cardiology training with an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, before taking up a public appointment in the Department of Cardiology at Monash Medical Centre.

He performs Cath Lab procedures for CVS at Cabrini Hospital including percutaneous coronary interventions, valvuloplasty and closure of PFOs, ASDs and VSDs.

He is happy to be contacted directly by general practitioners and physicians to discuss procedures and patient management.
